Paw2Paw has expanded their commitment to puppies and their families by now offering the Golden Beginnings Puppy Academy.

This 4 week Board & Train program led by  Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Jonna Spiller, is designed to teach each puppy essential manners, boost their confidence, and help them become a polite and happy family companion.

Puppies are in their Critical Socialization Period from 3 – 16 weeks.  There is no more important time in a dog’s life for learning and socialization than this specific time period.

But raising a puppy takes time, consistency, patience, and knowledge. Between work, family responsibilities, and everyday life, it can be challenging for owners to provide the considerable amount of structured training and socialization a young puppy needs during that Critical Period.

That’s where Golden Beginnings Puppy Academy makes a difference!

Your puppy receives dedicated attention and carefully planned daily experiences with a professional positive-reinforcement trainer.

In essence, much of the hard work is done for you, and you get to then reap the benefits of a puppy well on its way to being a well-mannered, confident, well-adjusted family member.

When you enroll your puppy in Golden Beginnings Puppy Academy, it receives dedicated attention and carefully planned daily experiences with Jonna, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. 

During the program, puppies begin developing important life skills, including:

• Confidence Building: Positive introductions to new sights, sounds, surfaces, objects, and environments.
• Socialization: Appropriate interactions with different people, friendly dogs, and a variety of everyday experiences.
• House Training: Establishing good bathroom habits and beginning a consistent potty routine.
• Crate Training: Learning that a crate is a comfortable, safe place to relax.
• Basic Obedience: Introducing foundational skills such as sit, down, stay, come, touch, and leave it.
• Leash Skills: Beginning to learn how to walk politely on a leash.
• Good Manners: Practicing polite greetings, appropriate play, and calm behaviors.
• Handling and Grooming: Becoming comfortable with gentle body handling, brushing, nail care, and routine grooming activities.
• Enrichment and Problem Solving: Exploring age-appropriate puzzles, interactive toys, and activities that encourage curiosity and learning.
